Organized by Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and co-sponsored by Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), the 18th International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems and Applications (2011 VLSI-TSA) will be held from 25 to 27 April 2011 at the Ambassador Hotel in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The symposium program will cover 2.5 days technical sessions and a half-day short course. The Best Student Paper Award for the 2010 Symposium will be presented at the opening of the symposium and the Best Student Paper Award for the 2011 Symposium will again be selected during the conference.
2011 VLSI-TSA technical sessions including 3 plenary talks, 2 special sessions on C-base Nanoelectronics and Advanced Manufacturing Technology respectively, and numbers of contribution sessions. Meanwhile, 2011 VLSI-TSA features a joint-invited session on Automotive Electronic with the International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test (2011 VLSI-DAT), speakers from both design and technology field will give penetrating speeches to all the audience. More details of the conference program session will be released in January, 2011. For details about VLSI-DAT, please visit the website at http://vlsidat.itri.org.tw.
The highlight of VLSI-TSA keynote speeches shows below:
Dr. Kelin Kuhn, Intel Fellow and Director, Advanced Device Technology, Intel, USA
Topic: CMOS scaling for the 22nm node and beyond: Device Physics and Technology
Dr. Shang-Yi Chiang, Vice President of Research and Development, TSMC, Taiwan
Topic: Challenges of Future Silicon IC Technology Dr. Jiri Marek, Senior Vice President Engineering Sensors, Robert Bosch GmbH
Topic: Automotive MEMS Sensors: Trends and Applications
With its Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park, in 2009 Taiwan generating over 66.7% of the global semiconductor foundry revenue, 15.7% of the world DRAM production revenue, 25.8% of fabless revenue, 45.2% of independent IC packaging revenue, and 70.0% of independent IC testing revenue, Taiwan is doubtlessly one of the major dynamos of the semiconductor industry on this planet.
The conference is proud to create an annual platform for technical exchanges by experts from all over the world on the advancements in semiconductor research, development, and manufacturing. Join us at the VLSI-TSA technical programs as well as experience historic Hsinchu city, in which the technical and cultural atmosphere have been harmoniously connected.
The 2010 VLSI-TSA has successfully attracted about 500 attendees with a very high-quality program featuring three keynote speeches, two special sessions, 24 invited talks, seven technical sessions with 50 technical papers presented, and two short courses. Both the contributing and invited papers are of high quality, and are presented by industrial and academic leaders and students from over 10 countries.
